Finally out of lockdown… but into a rather controversial Tier system. Much confusion but luckily the yard is in tier 2 as is my house… just!!
Our first weekend back with 3 runners at 2 meetings
I headed to Chaddesley with 2 runners
Prove Me Wrong ran a promising race finishing a good 5th with Tommie. She’s keen at home so we dropped her out and crept into the race slowly but maybe just had too much to do once she got into the race. We know for next time!
Bernardelli came 6th with young owner/rider Ella McCarthy Jones having her first ride. Ella missed the start and had a safe spin out the back. Luckily the horse has had an easy race and Ella learnt a lot and had a great day! She’s improved a huge amount in the last few months. Well done Ella!
Clondaw Bunny headed down south with Danielle driving, Chelsea leading up and Oliver Puffett riding. Clondaw bunny ran a great race in the intermediate to finish 4th and was only 1 length away from the winner. A really exciting horse that looks like he could be a lot of fun this season.
All horses are back safely. A huge thank you to the team for all their hard work, early start, late finish and organisation to make busy weekends like this possible. It doesn’t go unnoticed and you really are only as good as the people around you.
Another busy weekend of runners ahead…
Pauls hill is entered in the Men’s Open at Larkhill. Fingers crossed the ground stays good.
CaptainOfIndustry is entered in the ladies and conditions. He’s been off for 3 years so will be exciting to see how he goes.
Heist is entered in conditions race too. A new recruit to the yard in a really exciting new syndicate called ‘We Agreed To This In A Pamdemic Syndicate’. Why is this so exciting you might ask… well, it’s our first value racing syndicate at just £45 for a share for the whole year. No extra costs and most the benefits of racehorse ownership at a fraction of the price. Owners mornings on the gallops, regular updates and a raffle for owners tickets every time he races. A perfect Christmas present? Email [email protected] if you’d like to get involved!!
£45 for 1 share
£200 for 5 shares
Please don’t hesitate to get involved
In other news…
We’re very busy at the yard. Along side the racehorses, we also have plenty of breakers and problem horses. We’ve had an influx of problem horses and breakers the last few weeks.
Today we sent home a lovely 3yo for 5* event rider Tom Rowland that has been broken in over the last couple of weeks.
Santorini is a problem horse from India that has been tricky for her international owners but has been behaving and heads home on Wednesday.
Victoria Terry’s 4yo gelding has arrived after a long break to grow and mature. We backed him last year and will now continue his education.
Connie Davis’s 3yo has been broken in and nearly ready to go for a break. A lovely clever horse with a fantastic jump and flashy pedigree!
Hannah Burt has sent her 4yo gelding that’s been bolting at home to hopefully be sorted out… so far so good!
and finally, Kirsty Imm has sent her smart 3yo to be broken in.
Keeping us busy!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the lockdown Tuesday takeovers… we’ve had a lot of positive feedback so once a month we will continue the Tuesday takeover to give you an in site into the people involved in the yard and all the people that help keep the MCR operation moving in the right direction.
A cold, sunny, dry week forecast
Have a good week, stay safe
